In light of the current situation, we wanted to announce that we are completely dedicated to supporting both new and existing customers with any technological issues they may be facing at this difficult time. We hope that in doing so, we will be able to make your time at home both as safe and productive as it possibly can be. To achieve this, we have developed a ‘remote support system’ which allows us to access your home computer and smart home system remotely. In doing so, we can carry out a range of remote diagnostics that can help us discover and diagnose your issues and wherever possible, resolve them remotely. Should you require technical assistance in any capacity, then please don’t hesitate to contact our support team. Otherwise, please read on for more information on some of the key areas we have already identified that could benefit from remote support.
- Poor internet connection. If you’re struggling to connect to the internet or are experiencing slow speeds at home then we can carry out a remote home network assessment to determine what’s causing the problem. Once understood, we can advise on any potential fixes you can carry out at home and also explain what the best solution would be moving forward.
- Slow home computer. If your home computer or laptop is particularly old or running slowly then there are likely to be many updates and optimisations that we can make to restore it to its full potential. This can be done 100% remotely and is something we once specialised in exclusively.
- Unsecure home computer or network. If you are working from home on a personal device then you could be exposing your systems to a potential security breach if your home computer or network are not secure. By accessing your computer remotely we can ensure that you are up to date with all the latest security practices.
- Remote smart home support. As well as accessing your home computer remotely, it is possible to access your smart home system remotely too, regardless of whether it was installed by us. Much like your home computer, there are many checks we can do to ensure that your system is working correctly as well as carrying out remote updates.
In the event that a support visit is necessary to resolve an issue, we have developed a strict working procedure that limits any human interaction to protect both our staff and our clients. Whilst this does still remain an option in accordance with current guidelines, this is subject to change should stricter restrictions come into place in future.
